Muay Thai

Muay Thai is one of the most destructive forms of striking in combat sports and self-defense. Muay Thai utilizes hands, shins, knees, and elbows for striking which is why Muay Thai is referred to as the "Art of Eight Limbs".

Many recognize Muay Thai for its devastating kicks but Muay Thai is also known for superior clinch work, which helps to set up devastating knees and elbows. Many competitors in MMA use Muay Thai as their primary striking art in the cage.

Sami is a Muay Thai coach under Mike Gross, a black belt in Kickboxing and is currently the Conditioning Coach at Columbus MMA.  Sami focuses on high-level techniques that gives students a competitive edge while fighting.

In the advance class it is not uncommon to learn a move like the Khao Yieb (Step-up Knee kick).

The Kaho Yieb involves stepping onto the opponents thigh and driving a devastating knee in the upper chest, neck, or head which can end the fight instantly.

Sami has coached dozens of kickboxing champions on the amateur and national levels
